Where to go for MARC Records

Cataloging can become a very time-intesive task for school library media specialist. Wouldn't it be great to have all the various sites used for cataloging handy in one place? Sites you use for cataloging purposes, along with web address

  1. Your views on these sites: pros/cons
  2. Any other cataloging issues you are faced with

The Library of Congress (http://catalog.loc.gov/) has a very extensive website for catalog holdings. However, it is very slow to use and I have problems downloading the records. Also, this site can be very cumbersome to use.

I've used LOC fairly successfully.  I've attached a couple of Guides, one for the download process and one on the process to import the records into Mandarin.

Precision 1 is a great source for MARC records. One of the biggest downfalls is that you need to pay for the records.
