The Shock and Awe lesson plan is provided by Cable in the Classroom about the following:
In his artwork, Salvador Dalí created a “world between reality and dreams.” He painted images
from his subconscious in great detail. His paintings were dreamscapes of fragmented figures,
distorted images, and improbable combinations that represented his unique style of surrealism.
They were statements of his life, his memories, and his thoughts. His belief that it was an “artist’s obligation
to shock and disturb” was as evident in his art as it was in his unconventional life.
