The 2012-2013 Collaborations are a great way for educators to collaborate with other classrooms around the state. Each year the Distance Learning Consortium creates and facilitates various collaborations throughout the school year. Please see attached document for this years collaborations. Equipment Updates:
· Traversal still working well, this allows outside sites to dial in and inside sites to dial out.
· Bridge allows multiple sites to connect together (up to 12 sites) via SMARTBoards
· Brigit “seats” must be reserved.
· Bridgit allows multiple SMARTboards to connect together. This is also a free app for the iPad that works well. HOWEVER, we are still in BETA stages of testing the iPad app and Bridgit.
· Adobe-Connect allows web-based conferencing and meeting.
· We are in the early BETA stages of testing tablets to use as a DL tool.
· eLearning Site has End Point Directory that lists every end point in districts. Link: http://elearning.monroe.edu/endpoints
eLearning Site/CILC/CAPSpace Updates
· The eLearning Site is updated weekly with updates sent via email to DL list. http://elearning.monroe.edu - programs are gathered from Twice, CILC, and various vendors.
· CILC http://www.cilc.org offers free and cost programming. If you’d like to participate in a program, please contact Doreen Pietrantoni. It is important to ensure the invoice is sent to BOCES in order for the event to be aidable.
· Twice/CAPspace http://projects.twice.cc/index.php advertises collaborations and state-wide projects.
· Across the Pond Connections – collaborating with teachers and classrooms in the UK Teaching & Learning Across the Pond

To cap off the event, a pre-recorded video by the UK Minister for Schools and Families – Edward Timpson discussed the Paralympics and student learning through video conferencing. ![]()
A video montage of the connection will be uploaded to this page after November 26th. The video conference curricular alignment is character education, career education, and diversity.
